Teaching Thinking for Education Professionals

Courses organized in Latvia

Education professionals interested in the topic of teaching thinking are invited to attend residential courses in Latvia. There are four different courses:

1) Creativity and Thinking Skills in Language Education
Key target audience: language teachers and teacher trainers (any language).
The course will provide the participants with tools for the development of creativity and thinking skills in language education. It is based on the Thinking Approach to language teaching and learning.

2) Problem Management and Effective Education Based on TRIZ
Key target audience: pre-school, primary school teachers and teacher trainers.
The course will provide the participants with tools and ideas for improving their current approaches to problem solving and problem management. It is based on the Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ).

3) Creativity and Key Competences of Children Aged 3-10 through OTSM-TRIZ
Key target audience: professionals interested in improving their approaches to problem
solving and problem management.
The course will provide the participants with tools for the development of children\'s creativity and thinking skills. It is based on a large empirical experience of working with pre-school and primary school children in the field of teaching thinking.

4) Teaching Russian in Europe: Development of Creativity and Thinking Skills of Learners
Key target audience: teachers and teacher trainers of Russian as a foreign language and a mother tongue.
The course will provide the participants with tools for the development of creativity and thinking skills of learners when teaching Russian. It is currently the only course specifically for teachers of Russian for which EU grants are available.

All of the courses have a sound theoretical basis but also a clear practical focus to help the participants integrate the knowledge in the professional activities.
