European Project Supporting Refugees Integration in HEIs

The First Transnational Meeting

Pixel organized and coordinated the kickoff meeting of the European project entitled Together – Innovative European Learning Path to Facilitate the Access of Refugees to Higher Education, which was held on 13 – 14 January 2020 at Pixel in Florence (Italy). The European project entitled Together was funded by the European Commission in the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme, KA2 – Strategic Partnerships for Higher Education. The Together project has been written and coordinated by Pixel in cooperation with the project applicant and scientific coordinator IUS Gentium Conimbrigae based in Coimbra (Portugal) and with the University of Siena (Italy). The aim of the Together project is to develop social responsibility of Higher Education students providing them with intercultural and civic competences, raising their awareness on integration of refugees issues and having them working together with refugees and stakeholders of the third sector (NGOs) in order to play their potential key role in making University more inclusive. During the first meeting, the European project partners introduced themselves as well as their project’s related experiences and expertise. The main activities to be carried out were presented and discussed. The main intellectual outputs to be produced were examined and the templates for the production of the expected deliverables were analyzed and jointly discussed.
