European Call for Proposals on Employment of Persons with Autism Spectrum Disorders



In the framework of the Progress Programme, the European Call for Proposals VP/2010/017 on employment for people with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) was published.

The European Call for Proposals VP/2010/017 has the objective to demonstrate innovative practices in actual employment settings in the open labour market that can help develop policies for employment and social integration of people with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).

The European Call for Proposals VP/2010/017 should therefore support innovative and integrated projects, addressing disadvantages faced by persons with ASD, while taking account their potential, and promoting their employment.

The projects to be submitted within this European Call for Proposals shall develop or test approaches to improve access to and employment in the open labour market for persons with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) in a practical manner.

The projects to be submitted within the European Call for Proposals VP/2010/017 should be constructed around real cases that will allow a number of persons with autism to receive an employment in inclusive settings during the project duration aiming at sustaining the jobs after Progress Programme funding ends.

Projects to be submitted within the European Call for Proposals VP/2010/017 shall contribute to:
-gaining better understanding of autism and of challenges and obstacles faced by people with autism in progress in the labour market and receive an employment;
-adaptation of workplaces and related environments for inclusion and participation of persons with disabilities, in particular for persons with ASD as well as basic accessibility needs;
-assessing what measures should be taken in order to prevent unemployment of people with autism;
-identifying existing policy approaches in the Member States aimed at developing employment opportunities for people with autism and helping them access and progress in this employment;
-assessing the effectiveness of the measures undertaken;

The total available budget for the European Call for Proposals VP/2010/017 published within the Progress programme is approximately one million euro.
Financial aid granted by the European Union to each project submitted within the European Call for Proposals VP/2010/017 of the Progress Programme will not exceed 80% of the total eligible
costs.

The deadline for submitting proposals within European Call for Proposals VP/2010/017 of the Progress Programme is 19/08/2010.
