Call for Proposals

The Call for Proposal covering the implementation of the programme’s actions 1: Active Citizens for Europe, 2: Active civil society in Europe and 4: Active European Remembrance was published in the framework of the Europe for Citizens Programme. The Europe for Citizens Programme’s objectives are:

  • bringing together people from local communities across Europe to share and exchange experiences, opinions and values, to learn from history and to build for the future,
  • fostering action, debate and reflection related to European citizenship and democracy, shared values, common history and culture through cooperation within civil society organisations at European level,
  • bringing Europe closer to its citizens by promoting Europe's values and achievements, while preserving the memory of its past,
  • encouraging interaction between citizens and civil society organisations from all participating countries contributing to intercultural dialogue and bringing to the fore both Europe's diversity and unity, with particular attention to activities aimed at developing closer ties between citizens from Member States of the European Union as constituted on 30 April 2004 and those from Member States which have acceded since that date.

 

The priorities of the Europe for Citizens Programme’s call for proposals for the year 2013 are:

  • raising awareness on the values and rights of Union citizens and on the opportunities provided by the EU;
  • enhancing citizen's participation in the democratic life of the EU.

The Target Groups for this Europe for Citizens Programme’s call for proposal are citizens of the EU and the European Union Institutions.

Eligible participants within this Europe for Citizens Programme’s call for proposal are public bodies and non-profit organisations with a legal status established in one of the EU Member States, Croatia, Albania, former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Bosnia and Erzegovina, Montenegro or Serbia.

The eligible actions that can be funded within this Europe for Citizens Programme’s call for proposal are aimed at bridging the gap between citizens and the European Union. In doing so they are meant to explore original and innovative methodologies capable of encouraging citizens’ participation and stimulating the dialogue between European citizens and the institutions of the European Union.

The total budget for this Europe for Citizens Programme’s call for proposal eligible for a project within this measure is EUR 1.163. 000. EU Contribution cannot constitute more than 60% of overall eligible project cost.

The deadline for submitting proposals in the framework of the current Europe for Citizens Programme’s Call for Proposals is 1 June 2013.
