Abstract
As a force contributing to social and economic development elearning is fast becoming an accepted and essential part of the mainstream of educational systems with particular emphasis for the latter. This growth has been stimulated in part by the interest among educators and trainers in the use of new, internet based, interactive and multimedia technologies, and also by the recognition that traditional ways of organizing education need to be reinforced by innovative methods.
Despite the facts that there is a wide niche, interests and the demand to develop continuous education through distance or elearning, educators face the problems, related with a lack of methodical material, methodological material on how to use these technologies, provide and organize elearning, create elearning courses, choose the most suitable tools and elearning environment for adult education as well as what are advantages and disadvantages of elearning environments and tools.
Solving the problem mentioned above, one of the activities in the project is to choose institutions of adult or continuous education and interview adult teachers and managers with a help of a survey, during which a questionnaire with open and close questions would be provided. The respondents of the institutions selected would be able to provide and express their opinions and needs as well as describe their practical experience when using information communication technologies (ICT) for teaching.
The analysis, carried out by project partners, will help to understand national education systems in each partner country and the place of adult education within those systems. The analysis of answers, provided by adult teachers, would help to find out difficulties, faced when using information communication technologies, and the refusal to use them, as well as teacher needs and requirements seeking to make their work easier and studies more attractive for adults. All this will help to find new methods and solutions in adult education in order to improve the quality of adult and continuous studies.
