Call for Proposal for European Projects in the field of Sport

European Projects
The Sport Unit of the Directorate-General for Education and Culture published the Call for Proposal — EAC/22/10 for the submission of European Projects in the field of Sport, Training and Youth on the Official Journal of the European Union number 2010/C 133/09 of the 22nd of May.

This call for proposals invites the submission of European Projects to implement the Preparatory action in the field of sport, training and youth in accordance with the Commission Decision adopting the 2010 annual work programme for the preparatory action in the field of training and sport.

The Objectives of this call for proposals is to support European projects put forward by public bodies or civil society organisations in order to identify and test suitable networks and good practices in the field of sport, training and youth in the following areas:
(a) Fight against youth doping
(b) Promoting social inclusion in and through sport
(c) Promoting volunteering in sport

The main objective of the European Projects to be submitted in the framework of the Preparatory actions in the field of sport, training and youth is to prepare future EU actions in this field, on the basis of priorities set in the White Paper on Sport.

The eligible applicants who can submit European projects in the framework of this call are limited to:
— public bodies;
— civil society organizations in the field of sport, youth and training.

The budget available for funding European projects within this call for proposals on youth and training is 2.500.000 euro.
EU co-financing for European projects submitted within this call will be provided to a maximum of 80 % of the total eligible costs. Staff costs may not exceed 50 % of the total eligible costs. Other external co-financing can include maximum 10 % of contributions in kind.
Depending on the number and quality of the training, sport and youth European projects submitted, the Commission reserves the right not to award all the funding available.

The deadline for submission of European projects within this call for proposals on sport, training and youth is 31 August 2010, date as per postmark.
