Call for Proposals - EAC/S11/13 “Sport: Collaborative partnerships in the sport field and Not-for-profit European sport events” published by the European Commission, Directorate Education and Training

On 12 December 2013, the Call for Proposals EAC/S11/13 “Sport: Collaborative partnerships in the sport field and Not-for-profit European sport events” has been published by the European Commission, Directorate Education and Training.

The purpose of the current “Sport: Collaborative partnerships in the sport field and Not-for-profit European sport events” call is to tackle cross-border threats to the integrity of sport, such as doping, match-fixing and violence, as well as all kinds of intolerance and discrimination, to promote and support good governance in sport and dual careers of athletes and to promote voluntary activities in sport, together with social inclusion, equal opportunities and awareness of the importance of health-enhancing physical activity through increased participation in, and equal access to, sport for all.

 

The “Sport: Collaborative partnerships in the sport field and Not-for-profit European sport events” call aims to foster collaborative partnerships and synergies with, and between, local, regional national and European policies to promote sport and physical activities focused on grassroots sport.

 

The scope of the proposed activities under the current “Sport: Collaborative partnerships in the sport field and Not-for-profit European sport events” call shall cover following objectives:

- Fight against doping at grassroots level;

- Fight against match-fixing;

- Approaches to contain violence and tackle racism and intolerance in sport;

- EU principles on good governance in sport;

- EU Guidelines on dual careers of athletes;

- EU Physical Activity Guidelines

 

In case of Not-for-profit European sport events, activity must be belonging to one of the following topics:

- Enhance social inclusion, equal opportunities, volunteering and participation in sports;

- EU Physical Activity Guidelines;

- European week of sport.

The not-for-profit European sport events concern the organisation of Europe-wide sport events as well as national events organised simultaneously in several European countries.

 

In the framework of the current “Sport: Collaborative partnerships in the sport field and Not-for-profit European sport events” call, proposals have to meet the following eligibility criteria for the collaborative partnership:

- Partner can be any non-profit organisation or public body, established in a Programme or any Partner Country of the world;

- proposal must involve at least five organisations from five different Programme Countries;

- The duration of project is from 12 to 36 months The duration must be chosen at application stage;

- Activities must take place in the countries (one or more) of the organisations involved in the collaborative partnership;

 

The total budget earmarked for the co-financing of the action in the field of sport is estimated at EUR 16 600 000 maximum, for the period 2014-2020. The organisations have to co-finance 20% of the total project budget.

 

The deadline for submitting proposals in the framework of the current call for proposals is postponed to 26 June 2014.
