European Project supporting Adults with Down Syndrome

Staff Training

Pixel organized and hosted the Staff Training of the European project AWARDS - Autonomy and Well-Ageing Reinforcement for the adult people with Down Syndrome which took place from 12 to 18 September 2022 in Florence. The European project entitled AWARDS was funded by the European Commission in the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme, KA2 - Strategic Partnerships for Adult Education. The AWARDS project was written and coordinated by Uluslararasi Down Sendromu Federasyonu based in Istanbul (Turkey) and involves Pixel in the transnational partnership. The aim of the AWARDS European project is to improve the competences of families and professionals of the adults with Down Syndrome to gain their skills of autonomy and increase their life quality through innovative training methods in order to reinforce active and well-ageing of them. A total of 35 people, 5 from each partner institution, participated in this training program, which aimed at training adult educators about how to develop the skills of Adult Down syndrome families and professionals to support the active and well ageing of Adult Down syndrome people.
