European Project supporting Bilingual Education

Transnational Meeting

Pixel organized and coordinated the third onsite transnational meeting of the European project entitled BiMo – Bilingualism in monolingual contexts, which took place on 12 and 13 September 2022 at Kaunas Jonas and Petras school, based in Kaunas (Lithuania). The European project entitled BiMo was funded by the European Commission in the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme, KA2 - Strategic Partnerships for School Education. The BiMo project was written and coordinated by Pixel in cooperation with the project applicant and scientific coordinator Universidad Nacional de Educacion a Distancia, based in Madrid (Spain). The BIMO European project aims at deepening the views, impressions and needs of the parents in monolingual societies with implemented bilingual education programmes, and at establishing synergies from societies with greater experience in everyday bilingualism and bilingual education programmes in a foreign language. During this meeting, the European project partners presented the final version of the MOOCs on Bilingualism and approved the contents of the publication related to the Policy Recommendation on Bilingualism. In addition, the European project partners presented several examples of case studies on the application of bilingualism at school.
