European Project on Bilingual Education

The First Transnational Meeting

Pixel organized and coordinated the kickoff meeting of the European project entitled BiMo – Bilingualism in monolingual contexts, which took place online – using the Zoom web platform – on 4 and 5 March 2021.  The European project entitled BiMo was funded by the European Commission in the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme, KA2 - Strategic Partnerships for School Education. The BiMo project was written by the project applicant and scientific coordinator Universidad Nacional de Educacion a Distancia, based in Madrid (Spain) in cooperation with Pixel, also supporting the coordination of the planning process. The BIMO European project aims at deepening the views, impressions and needs of the parents in monolingual societies with implemented bilingual education programmes, and at establishing synergies from societies with greater experience in everyday bilingualism and bilingual education programmes in a foreign language. During the kickoff meeting, the European project partners introduced themselves as well as their project’s related experiences and expertise. The main activities to be carried out were presented, with a specific focus on the first deliverable, the 3 MOOCs addressed to schools directors, teachers and parents.
