European Project supporting Adults with Down Syndrome

The First Transnational Meeting

Pixel participated in the kickoff meeting of the European project AWARDS - Autonomy and Well-Ageing Reinforcement for the adult people with Down Syndrome which took place online – using the Zoom web platform – on 5 February 2021. The European project entitled AWARDS was funded by the European Commission in the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme, KA2 - Strategic Partnerships for Adult Education. The AWARDS project was written and coordinated by Uluslararasi Down Sendromu Federasyonu based in Istanbul (Turkey) and involves Pixel in the transnational partnership. The aim of the AWARDS European project is to improve the competences of families and professionals of the adults with Down Syndrome to gain their skills of autonomy and increase their life quality through innovative training methods in order to reinforce active and well-ageing of them. During the first meeting, the European project partners introduced themselves as well as their project’s related experiences and expertise. The main activities to be carried out were presented and discussed.
