Computing and Creative Media

Within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA1 project (No. 2017-1-UK01-KA116-036050), Dundee and Angus College and Pixel organized a mobility initiative, which aimed at arranging internships with companies based in Florence focused on the following thematic area: “Computing and Creative Media”.

The objectives of the “Computing and Creative Media” Mobility Initiative were to give a group of students the opportunity to

  • have a practical in-company work experience;

  • learn about different working methods in use of enterprises of a different country;

  • acquire skills and work on the field in order to foster their future employability;

  • acquire a stronger motivation to learn;

  • get to know the European labour market.

  • Connectis Srl

    Companies

    Connectis is a company based in Prato. It was created in 1999 by two computer engineers specialized in electronics. The company has a full time staff team of 12 people, most of them are experts in web development, the company also cooperates with a team of external experts and developers. Connectis’ core business is the creation of Internet applications addressed to public authorities operating in the field of tourism. The company is now the main technical partner of most of the Tuscan public bodies in charge of the promotion and marketing of tourism. The company develops tourism search engines, applications for the electronic transmission of data between tourism operators and public bodies etc. Connectis also develops tourism management database solutions as well as touch screen applications that are being used by public bodies in charge of tourism information. Connectis also develops internet solutions for local and regional associations of lawyers to help them in the digital connection with the Court.
    Finally Connectis develops educational online platforms as well as web sites and portal for different sectors: education, e-business, marketing etc.

  • Eurocentres

    Universities and Schools

    The Eurocentres school, the oldest state-recognized school of foreign languages in Florence, can be found in Palazzo Guadagni, a Renaissance palace dating from the 16th century which is located in the middle of the old town centre near the Ponte Vecchio. Eurocentres is a Swiss Foundation which was established in 1948 to help people to learn to communicate in different languages. At present Eurocentres teaches in 35 schools around Europe, USA, Canada, Australia and Japan. About 13'000 students annually study one of the world's most important languages at Eurocentres: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Russian or Japanese.

    The “Francesco Datini” Vocational Training Public Secondary School has been following the social and economic changes of the Italian ciety in order to catch the new needs of the national and regional productive reality. For this reason, the school tries to introduce the best innovations (technologies and multimedia tools) within the education activities. The school offers five different courses finalised to specific professional figures: Advertising Graphics Technician, Business Management Assistant, Tour Operator, Social Services Assistant, Hotel Assistant Manager.

  • Istituto Statale di Istruzione Superiore “Leonardo Da Vinci”

    Universities and Schools

    Leonardo da Vinci is a technical and vocational school created in September 1900. The school staff is composed by over 400 teachers. The school trains every year over 1000 students providing vocational education courses in the following disciplines: mechanics, construction, electronics, electrical engineering, telecommunications, chemistry, computer science. The age of the students of the Technical and Vocational Institute is 14 to 19.
